This course will cover the Cal/Osha standards for excavation, the use of protective systems, soil analysis, hydraulic shoring and competent person requirements. Students completing this course will possess a clear understanding of common violations and specific safety code application to encourage safe trench / excavation work.
This course will teach participants how to recognize a life-threatening emergency and how to provide basic life support, as well as how to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illnesses, including airway obstruction, shock, burns, strains, strokes, and seizures. Upon completion of this course, participants will receive nationally recognized first aid/ CPR and AED course completion cards.
This course will teach participants how to safely operate a forklift. This course is designed to provide participants with forklift safety knowledge and skills through classroom instruction and hands-on exercises. A certificate of completion will be provided to all participants who successfully demonstrate the minimum classroom knowledge, skill, and operation needed to operate a forklift safely.
The backhoe training course is intended to ensure every operator can safely operate their backhoe. A review of regulations, safe practices, and common violations will be presented. Also, each operator will be provided an opportunity to display their skills by performing a practical application.
This course is designed to cover common concepts to all types of aerial devices and elevated platforms. Participants will gain technical knowledge of this equipment through classroom study and hands-on exercises with the equipment. Successful participants will receive a certificate of completion.
This two-day course covers safety and health hazard recognition and prevention for workers, foremen, job supervisors and anyone who works on a construction job site. Covered topics include fall protection, electrocutions, struck-by and caught in-between, personal protective equipment, health hazards. This course will focus on hazard identification and methods of correction, control, and prevention. Participants will receive a federal Osha 10-hour certificate of completion card.
In this course, participants will learn how to apply Osha general industry safety standards and combine other safety standards that relate to hazardous material safety. Presentation topics include: fire prevention, hazard identification, marking and labeling of containers, safe storage practices, spill containment, personal protective equipment options based on chemical hazards. Class attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a practice spill control demonstration.
This course focuses on the roles and responsibilities of the employer to develop and implement an energy control program for the protection of employees while working with machinery and equipment. Topics include; types of hazardous energy, energy isolation options, written program requirements, conditions that would require the control of energy.
This course will cover the Osha standards for safe assembly and dismantling of scaffolds. Topic coverage includes, hazard recognition, types of scaffolds, employee qualification and training, maintenance, repair, and inspection requirements. Students will participate in a scaffold assembly and dismantling workshop to reinforce concepts of safe scaffolding and to apply the class material that is presented. Upon course completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
This course will emphasize respiratory protection requirements based on common chemicals used in the workplace. A review of the anatomy of the lungs and how pure air and contaminated air enter the lungs will be presented. Each student will perform a practice of Donning and doffing a respirator and disinfecting a respirator. Storage requirements and filtration options will also be discussed.
